Let OEMs make their own camera UI, native one sucks
The Camera UI is rubbish, Why should I have to go to, Option then photo settings to change what I want. Not only that, but the settings are in a list, making it even longer to change a settings.
I'm sure if Nokia designed the Camera App it would be much better. There is also a lack of settings in the camera app, we should be able to change a few more things.
Considering all the other manufacturers have HDR option built in we should have that too.
We should be able to change metering modes.

Implement fully featured point and shoot functions.
When the phone ready to take pictures, it should give the user to choose white balance, filter, different modes to shoot and etc.

A self-timer app
A self-timer app should be built into the camera app. That is expected to be standard these days. It would also be nice to have

Image Resize in Photo ... edit
Many other suggestions listed are either too general or too specific in another area. I would like to see Resize added as a tool when one chooses ... Edit...
Currently only Crop, rotate, auto-fix are listed.
To do what I want requires a 3rd party app. They tend to duplicate those other tools of Crop, rotate, etc.
I think resizing is at least as important as Cropping.

Add camera resolution settings
Most digital cameras and mobile phones with a built-in camera give you the possibility to choose from several picture resolutions and details quality. In WP8 we can not take pictures in lower resolution/quality, than maximum. That's annoying, especially when traveling and memory runs out. It would be great to choose between 8 MPix, 5 MPix, 3 MPix, 1 MPix and maybe even basic VGA 640x480. I don't need 8 MPix pictures - I resize them all down...

Picture and camera album: allow to multiple select pictures you want to erase
Now it is very irritating, a slow time-taking procedure, to selectively erase/keep pictures in the albums. Unbelievable, in fact.... Just allow - even ancient OS have that... - to select/group pictures individually, to then erase together in one move (or two-three: erase", then "erase?" and confirm), which now you have to do with each picture individually, this is killing... Also, allow to just choose for "erase all pictures", without even heving to select. Thanks to for sure integrate this on 7.8

Camera should have adjustability sliders on screen to set the Aperature, Brightness and shutter speed.
when in camera mode, to the Left side would be a slider that a person could adjust for the level of brightness needed, on the Top of the screen would be another slider to set the depth of focus (aperture) to blur out unwanted people or scenery.

Option to change where photo's are being saved to
In camera app there should be an option to choose where next photos are being saved to, for instance instead of camera roll they could be placed into a album called holidays so every photo you take from then on goes into the holiday album.
