The fix for "Lack of Apps"
My wife has a WP7 and she loves it. Matter of fact, she has two of them. I too will be converting over once my contract expires.
There isn't a better interface, a more snappy experience, than the WP7. The iPhone does come close, but overall the WP7 comes out on top... (at least in our family). However, my coworkers and friends, as well as my wifes coworkers CONSTANLY complain that there is a "Lack of Apps". Well, what they mean is that all the popular apps on the iPhone and Android are not written or geared for the Windows…

Get rid of the $99 developer fee.
Why stifle development with an entry fee? Learn from BlackBerry and webOS - both great operating systems that failed because of a lack of developers. Developers not only create applications, they often self-promote, which draws more needed attention to the OS. If you must charge, try something like $10 per application submitted, capping out at $100 for the year. Don't discourage the developers that just want to try it out.

Make all apps on Windows Phone Marketplace available consistently across all countries. All apps should not be region-specific.
It sucks that I have to hope that when I see a cool new app that was just launched that its also available for my country's Marketplace as well (malaysia).
All (or very nearly all) apps on the iOS App Store and Google Play are consistently available across all countries, so nobody misses out on anything. Naturally it should be the same for Windows Phone. For example, I tweet a lot and find the default Twitter app a piece of ****. Fortunately there are great apps like Carbon or Rowi to pick up the slack, but UNfortunately they're mysteriously not…

Nokia Suite and Sony Ericsson PC Suite allow you to connect your phone with a USB cable to manage your contacts and more importantly to send and receive texts using your PC as a virtual terminal for your phone.
Sending texts from my PC is the most important function since it takes much less time and does not interrupt my work to pick up the phone.
When is this option going to be available on Zune?

We need medical apps. UpToDate, Epocrates, Medscape apps exist for all over major ecosystems. Don't let Apple overtake the medical sector!

Please add FM radio to Windows Phone 8.
FM radio does not drain battery as much as radio over data connection.
If you don't have data plan then there's no radio for you.
As I like talk shows, music store is not the answer either28 votes -
