If this has already been supported in windows phone 8 then why does the windows phone 8 right now can't read a flash drive using an OTG cable? Is it due to manufacturer limitations or it was just disabled? This is really a useful feature and I hope this will be enabled in the future updates. I also plan to buy a Nokia Lumia 920 that's why I'm saying this (because it doesn't have an external sd card).

I cannot play music over USB from my Nokia Lumia 920 in my new 2013 Toyota Sienna. I am not playing DRM music from Xbox. I am trying to play just the normal songs stored on my phone. Audio is working fine through Bluetooth. But, I am hoping to see/select albums and songs on my touch screen in the car. Am I missing anything here?

But it doesn't support reading music from an Xbox Music Pass subscription. This is a huge disconnect. One of the biggest strengths of Windows Phone is Xbox Music Pass, so what good is "USB Mass Storage" if it doesn't expose that music (I'm looking at this in the sense of playing the music through a USB adapter in a car or on some sort of dock if anyone ever makes one)?

It would be best if there are some system setting (both on windows 8 side and WP 8side) to achieve this goal.Awesome idea if the phone can contribute a certain storage based on user's need to let user set a certain amount of USE storage and pop up the options for sync WP8 or use as USB storage device when the phone is plugged in PC using USB

Closed for WP8 at least. Is this the beginning of WP fragmentation?

Ah, WP8 has it... should be clarified it's needed for Windows 7.5 or at least indicated if it's coming in 7.8....

I am using my Nokia Lumina 920 with WP8 as a USB mass storage device. This request should probably be closed.

Mass storrage USB is must have. Use a phone as a flesh drive to boot a pc or play a song

This exists already with WP8, but I agree, it would be really nice for WP7's.

Windows phone already supports this right? This can probably be closed.

This is a glaring omission. In order for the platform to compete successfully it must have no-brainer features that the average (informed or uninformed) would expect from a modern phone. The competitions operating systems support this features, so it does not make sense that Windows Phone does not have this. It's a barrier to adoption.

It's very necessary to have it.
Because if you buy a phone of 16000rs. And it doesn't have Bluetooth :D

"Smartphones" are all about being able to do more and consolidating what you carry in you pocket. Nowadays there is no need to carry a GPS, digital camera, mp3 player, audio recorder, pen & paper, alarm clock, etc., etc. I work in many IT environments with no internet connectivity. Flashdrives and portable HDDs are essential for installing software but it would be nice to ditch those also... Sadly, this is another point scored for other mobile OS competitors.
