Enable USB storage
It would be nice to be able to use Windows Phone devices as USB storage
This feature is now available in Windows Phone 8. Please note that while Windows Phone 8 doesn’t support USB mass storage with a full file explorer, it does support reading/writing pictures, music, videos and ringtones very similar to the way you normal would with a USB drive.

dedicated expandable storage and read-only access to pictures and video would be a great addition.

USB storage and local Outlook sync are non-negotiable. I was excited to upgrade from Windows Mobile to WP7, but had to return it immediately when I found it couldn't do what my old phone could. I now use Blackberry because it works much better with my Windows PC and Office. I'd rather have a Windows Phone, but cannot get one until these functions return.

It should be enabled by default, especially on Windows systems.
Strange that MS haven't done this yet ... -

I love WP but without USB storage isn't a complete and mature mobile OS

I wanted to buy a WP7 smart phone but decided not to, after I found out it can't even replace a USB drive.
