  There should be a native way to connect to Windows 8 and especially a way to control music and videos!

  I’m glad I’ve found this forum. I was going to get a Nokia Lumia 920 phone but seeing this I decided to stay away from MS. The hardware is nice, but the OS sucks. Many must have features are missing. Everybody would think RDP client comes with a high end WP8 phone by default. No wonder MS is losing market share. Now even in business segment.

  It can be just app but made by Microsoft! We need secure client app!

  There now an app for this but from security point i want an official ms app.

  It's. Will be nice to see in wp 7.8 and 8 free app and support from Microsoft like in windows mobile 6.5

  I'm using the RemoteDesktop WP8 app and it's really good. For £1.49 you can't really shake a stick at it

  Plus I emailed the guy and asked for some features, he put them in. Can't ask fairer than that!

  Joshua jackson, didn't mean to click flag. Not spam or bad. Connectme is a great alternative. Win phone 8 still needs a built in solution for business environments. But that does work for at home.

  There is a third-party app called ConnectMe that does Remote Desktop.

  I wish we had something close to what Jump Desktop provides on iOS.

  There are some solutions but I'd like to see an official Remote Desktop app for WP. A RDP client from Microsoft that beats out all other third party Windows Phone/Non Windows Phone apps in functionality!

  native RDP was a wonderful thing on my previous HTC HD2 with 6.5. I bought the NL920 with the hope that it happens on this platform.

  Rdp from 3rd party could leak rdp access to servers. I would prefer a Microsoft one that has native security support.

  I think MS would like the 'market' to solve this but I have to say that the polish of those apps is pretty poor and not all support advanced features like RDP gateway and NLA auth. A MS build app would be appreciated, and since one exists for Windows 8, not unprecedented.

  this is good for IT people, vpn with remote desktop control.

  Why should they include this anyone? There are some in the Marketplace. I've never seen this built-in a phone nor a tablet, nor a desktop.
