BULL ****! Not complete. A good start, but NOT COMPLETE.

I had to replace my lumia 920, and having come from an iTunes background was horrified to find out that appdata was not included in the backup. WTF big time! With a replacement iPhone, I'd just have to restore my latest backup from iTunes (yuk), and voila - everything was there. Accounts, apps, music, pictures, all saved games, app data - everything. Same phone. Easy. With Windows phone, again, WTF? lost ALL app data, a bunch of my apps did not re-download automatically, had to redo my start screen tiles, and use a combination of windows explorer and the half-baked "Windows Phone App Preview 3" app to restore my music and videos. I'm sorry, did this platform come out yesterday?? I love my Windows phone, but if I have to go through this again, my next phone will once again be an Apple, where their products might be stale, but at least they are completed, not in-the-works concepts.

The ability to automatically backup is very nice but I do have an issue with it. I have the HTC 8X and a Windows 8 Laptop. When I first purchased my phone and completed the setup/sync/cloud requirements, everything was immediately backed up.

I used this phone for several months (lots of text messages/new contacts/photos/videos/personalization, etc). Everytime I connected my phone to the laptop, it would backup everything. I know this because I have broken two 8xs and had them replaced under insurance. All I had to do on the new 8x that came in was plug it into my laptop and it would restore everything: messages, music, photos, even tile arrangements and size.

I broke this latest 8x phone and got another one. Did the same thing for a third time: hooked up the phone to the laptop except the difference this time was the phone had a big software update so I completed the update prior to restoring the phone. The phone never restored all of data that was on the previous device despite being on my laptop in the backup file. I figured it was a defective phone so I had it exchanged 3 times and the same result.

It was suggested that the software update may have affected the backup capabilities so I reverted my phone to the original WP8 version (and in the process voiding my warranty). The phone restore perfectly. It did not restore completely after I erased the phone (factory reset) and then updated WP8 to the latest version.

Dont get me wrong, it restores fine with most of the data but it seems to miss all of the settings/personalization options. This is more of a time consuming inconvenience but it is a step in the wrong direction. I dont know exactly what the update disabled or entailed but my only suggestion on this topic is to restore full backup capability as it was once there.

        Apologies for the long post

Agradecida.

Serio muito útil a função print screen no windows Phone. Sinto necessidade sempre .
O instagram também faz muuuuuuita falta. É o que mais me deixa arrependida de ter comprado o WP e não o Galaxy . :/
quando ele estará disponível para esse aparelho?

Currently I have WP7. There is no way I would buy a WP8 unless I have an easy way to migrate everything from my existing WP7 to WP8.
