  lack of VPN gives WP major disadvantage since all the competition has it standard.

  I love my windows phone, but as an IT professional I feel limited when my colleges use their iphones to VPN to our network to work.
  If Microsoft really wants to compete with WP8, it needs to provide extra perks that competitors do not provide, instead of providing less features than other products.

  MS must be out of their mind to launch such a platform without this feature, people already got the negative news about it and it will be hard to reverse that, not to mention the negative user experience that get spread over the forums!,

  This is a must have, my organization may consider WP8 if it had this feature, we are currently deploying Iphones at one facility and Android phones at another, so far the androids look to be the better choice. No VPN support shows that MS rushed this OS.

  I was hoping to deploy a windows 8 phone across the organization especially for our mobile staff and mgmt so that they have office apps and good email support etc. They've been begging for a mobile solution and want iPads. How do I explain that the Windows 8 phone won't do what an iPad/iPhone can when connecting to a WINDOWS network. The lack of a Cisco anyconnect app is startling and a deal breaker - guess we stick with Blackberry and start buying those iPads (which also come with 4G! unlike the Windows tablets out right now). All in all, very dissapointed with the whole Windows 8 deployment. Had hoped this was going to be a perfect mobile solution for Windows fans.

  What in the world is everyone in MS thinking about. No VPN client support in the 21st century??? Come on, give your users what they want! VPN support is a MUST!!! Even winmo 6 had it!

  no vpn, no deal. its the final hurdle to my buying a lumia 920. only two things stop me buying the lumia 920t now. VPN and the xbox music service should also work on my android phone as the spotify app on windows is terrible.

  For Business customers in europe vpn is a main decision criteria - with vpn - phone 8 might be a Business success - without it - Microsoft will lose the Business customers to apple iphone, as currently RIM does -
