Enable sending contacts/vcards by SMS/MMS or mail
This feature is now available in Windows Phone 8.
How does it work? I don't see it working in Lumina 820. That's one of the main reasons for not going for another windows8 phone. Its basic need.
Well other phone types ( nokia feature phones and android) can't read the v-cards sent from my nokia lumia 720 (WP8). How hard can it be to enable users to share contacts?

Great, now I hope you include that in 7.8
What about WP7 users? are we sux?
Several times now when someone sends me a vcard I get the message: "One or more of the message components have been deleted by MMS Adaptaton. Either the message was too large or the components were unsuitable for your handset"
How does this feature work on windows phone 8?

Do the suggested apps "Stay alive", or do they have to be running to notify of receipt. For example, the way Skype works, you don't get a notification of an incoming message. Renewal coming up, and iPhone 5 is sounding better and better if some of these issues aren't addressed in the Win 8 phone.
There has been discussions regarding this for a long time. I have seen threads from 2010 on this. I don't think windows is even trying to correct this basic problems with their programming. I bought a windows phone for my wife and she has been furious with me since she feels it is not a user friendly phone. If you have to download apps to do basic works, and go to the specific apps to do these tasks, it does not make much sense. For example, to get a dialler screen, which is the basic function of a phone, you need to press the power button, slide the screen, press call button and then press the dialler button. RIDICULOUS. I think I will end up buying an android phone soon enough to replace the lumia I bought for my wife. Or there will be no peace at home
Nokia app for that on market share contacts, you can send a specific contact by SMS or mail

Must be able to RECEIVE a contact via SMS, and SEND one. Currently I have to use another app (SendContact) to create a plain text SMS with embedded contact details. If somebody sends me a "business card", the text message reads;
We can't show some content in this message
That is very poor for such a basic mobile phone requirement - especially a Nokia!
Absolute necessity for business users like myself, this must be in the mango update. or I may have to go back to iphone. This is an important part of business networking
If someone ask me for Pete's number, i have to enter contacts, search for Pete, open his profile, copy his number, quit, open SMS (or MAIL), create new, paste number.
Are you kiddin me??
Android does it with ONE single touch on "share"..
Yes this is very urgent requirement

Is this for real? vCard not working? I dont even get a notification about the received sms/vCard? This is BAD! So to be sure that all get my new adress I have to type it in a regular SMS and then let the receiver manually update there data? Is we living in the 2000?

i have had every iphone since the beginning. decided to try windows for 30 days and cant believe this feature is not present. Micorsoft needs to copy Apple on this one. Quite simply a share button for sending by email and or mms to any type phone and create contact when receiving by email or mms from any type phone

This kind of missing things makes you think Microsoft is neglegting us.
Make this feature good and working with several other systems and you get respect from users.

My wife was not pleased when I came home with the Lumia after my old iphone died, but she was starting to come around. Then she tried to send me a contact ( as we always have ) and i told her that didn't seem to work. Now she hates my phone. Major marketing misfire by Microsoft. They really need to have this taken care of in the next couple of weeks or they're going to see a backlash.
please...this is basic
