Yea I would it if when I start dialing a number if I have dialed it before or the contact is in my list that the dialer would auto populate the rest of the number.

Functionality like Rap dialer app should be build in windows7.5/7.8 phone, when dailed from keypad contacts should appear with similar numbers.

Smart dialing have to be enabled in the upcoming updates for both win phone 7 and win phone 8. I have used Android before which has this nice feature but it is lacking that feature in my Lumia 900 which i bought it on jan of this year

It should be on the system smart dialling is a must, but if you need this phone dialer,call dialer + etc on market

It is not correct.
WinPhones have now only ONE mobile field Type of number.
So if You have 2 or more mobile numbers in your old phone in each contact, after syncing/copying You can see only ONE mobile Type of number in each contact! The first one. Other mobile numbers rejectet!!! -

This is for me the great miss on WP against WM6.1/6.5 and Smart Phones with WM2002 2003 2003SE
It was so clever tool, click only one key and by in smart dial, then use T9 keypad and search through all contacts. Not perfectly tries this apps 7dialer from marketplace.
Please bring back old function - smart dialing

I forgot something, the apps ... None were very good and all were missing bits to be good

Ok I jumped on the Nokia Facebook site and one of the gurus there aswered me challenge on this one ... Just click on the number, hit add, then the disc to save you'll get a chance to save it as a new contact, you need to then update the details and save, its in. Have a muck around in case I got one of the sequences wrong. The important thing is to tap the number not the little phone icon on the side, oh and holding on the numbe does work either

Other apps are phone dialer and call dialer + check it out ;-)

This would have to be the most basic of needs on a busy phone. I cant even copy the number from my call log and add it to my contacts. EVERY other phone on the market can add a log entry to contacts and has done so for many years in some form or another.
I will check out the apps recommended but thus far none have tickled me that much.

Guys try 7 dialer on marketplace. It should be built in yes don't understand why hope MS fixes it.

smart dialing is a must... even though its possible by installing an app 'True Dialler' but it should come as in-built one..

A better idea would be to be able to connect 1 number on the keypad to a contact. 1 being the voicemail, 2 my girlfriend and so on. It would at least make calling your favourite contacts easier en quicker

...I think this would be even better if dialing, contact searching, smart dialing are all available from one of the static buttons. It could probably work in a completely revamped bing search app, and the keyboard will need numbers overlaid on some of the letters.

My favorite feature. Make sure it searches for both numbers and names simultaneously
