Store my saved games progress in the cloud
That way if my phone is broken/lost/reset I can continue where I left off. Otherwise I am forced to start playing all my games from scratch -- not cool :-)
So we are expected to upgrade when a new device is released but start are games from the beginning

Anyone know if they mentioned anything about this?

From my accidental re-suggestion:
Since Windows Phone already segregates a special area for all games; is there anyway they include, either in the backup process or via some SD integration, an OS level Game Data backup.
It could be by allowing devs to participate by having them either flag their app or dedicate a space to Isolated Storage. The system level operation can then simply go through each and back it up.
No need to break the current WP conventions, but since the area is already separated, it'd be worthwhile to know I can take my saves with me when I change devices without too much mucking around.
well I need help with carcassonne and uno and friends for achievements perhaps but first I need help figuring out if my progress is frozen since it stopped counting wins in carcassonne, tried playing the game of life and it stopped working for some reason as well, anyone know anything or care to play sometime, contact me

This *really* needs to happen. Some sort of sync with SkyDrive would be perfect.

Need this for a better gaming experience...
and this for better marketing...
A badly needed feature. I wouldn't like to lose progress in my games.

I agree, especially for Xbox LIVE games, this would make it easy to migrate to a new cell.-phone and to recover lost games if you'd ever lose your phone.

I would add the ability to cable or WiFi sync to a local machine vs the cloud for backup. To do it all in one hit. I would be fine with cable sync cause USB is faster than WiFi. Backup home screen, app data and settings.

I saw this after I made my own post so i'm just gonna copy my comment to here.
Add the ability to backup app settings and game progress. So everything is as it was after you have to do a restore. Maybe even keep the live tile locations. I know that text messages and the app list are backed up so its would not too hard. It could even just be first party apps in the beginning.
This could be done via Cloud which is the norm Microsoft is pushing. Even if I had to back it up on my computer it would be better than not having that option.
I recently had to restore my Lumia 920 after it ended up in brick mode, then again when my camera stopped working. I lost all my app settings and game progress. Setting an app back up its not too hard but when you have a lot of apps its starts to become tasking and also I lost all my progress for angry birds and Final Fantasy. That took a lot of time.
I know that iOS and android can do, so please make it possible on Windows phone. I really like the windows OS and I think that this feature would help existing and future customers.
I know that when my contract is up on my phone and I had the option to upgrade, it would want to pick a windows phone and if I could transfer everything on my phone over it would make things so much easier. I would even wait to upgrade my phone till this feature or something like it comes around.
I agree <3 data backup of all apps must be done.... Micro **** do not do that even when they have Skydrive... Do something Microsoft... I hate losing my game progress...
This is a great idea to help people stay with the Windows Phone platform - when upgrading your phone, you lose no progress, so you can continue your game.

I always liked to upgrade my handsets, but not any more! It's ridiculous that game saves are not backed up. Basically you have to finish any game before you can change handsets, and you have to start from scratch if you need to reset your phone. The current backup and restore is laughable!

I agree, Windows Phone must be 100% cloud, and so must the Xbox One, this could make it the ''killer console'' neither the Nintendo 3DS nor the PlayStation Vita ever were.
