Create a trip/route using Maps and save it in the phone to open while not connected
I'd like to be able to create a route and pin it to open even when I'm not connected to any radio (3G, Wifi)

Additionally, I can use a canned 'trip' to choose my route to/from work based on traffic conditions.

excellent idea, save a copy of a route, including map, as a doc or picture to the phone. even if just road-based, not aerial.

This is especially important when on a road trip. I often will search for places along my route (restaurants, hotels, parks), and then I lose my original trip route! When the cell coverage sucks, sometimes it takes up to 10 minutes for the trip route to recalculate.
