Soft back button in IE browser
The hardward back button makes navigation in IE confusing. We need a soft back button.

Not buttons, SWIPES for IE software back and forward!

Yes. Very yes. Combined with the fact that Bing and other apps won't open a page on a new tab, but instead uses the most recent tab to open the link makes for extremely frustrating experiences.
All apps should start using soft back buttons in the upper left like the Windows 8 flavor of "Modern UI." The stack for the hardware back button frequently gets so crossed up that it's ridiculous. The behavior differences depending on whether you hold to switch apps vs rapidly tap it vs use the start button to get to the app you want to use makes the "back" experience very inconsistent.

when you press the back arrow , it consumes internet traffic, not like other browsers, all the browsed webpages can be back reviewed without using internet. please solve this problem
Add one exit option instead of back, back back. pretty annoying -

Agreed, this is pretty annoying when i press "back" on the phone, only to be taken out of IE.

Agreed!
Topic should read soft navigation buttons. There are many times when you want to go back or forward on a page after you reopen the browser.

Left and right gestures will be better as in a "uc browser" which can be downloaded from market place

This is the biggest issue with web browsing in my opinion... soft back AND forward button is needed! Perhaps gestures could help to save space?

If this cannot be rectified so as to perform similar to other mobile browsers, then, MSFT ... U can say goodbye to another promising-but-u-basically-blew-it dissatisfied customer.
User on one blog suggested swiping left/right to navigate Back/Fwd. What a GREAT idea!
WP team: hope you truly read this stuff!

Not just a back button but a forward button as well. I just bought a lumia 900 and dicovered this right away. Almost tempted to take the phone back due to this. I often will go into another app and do other tass and come back to the browser later and I want to be able to go backwards and forwards in the browser without using recents. This was a very poor design.

Agreed!! Make a dedicated "exit" button instead of having to wade through every page you viewed to exit. Alternatively, I have found that if you just go to the > menu > tabs, then close that tab, THEN hit the back button, this will work. Exit button should be put on screen - if there is enough space - or at the menu at the very least.

Why do we need a button? Wouldn't it make more sense for Back or Forward to be a gesture? Just flick left or right to go back and forward.

IE needs a software back button - (a forward button would be nice as well). I never know what the hardware back button will do: sometimes it takes me to the previous browser page, sometimes it takes me to another app, and sometimes it takes me to another tab.
