Windows Live Mesh use P2P so the files don't actually "exist" in the cloud, hence the innability to access them on the phone.

the sync with desktop IE and the phone IE I see as key, I know how to do the manual process but its fiddly and having a way to pull favourites and files down automatically to the phone would be awesome, Windows Mobile used to have a special way to sync things when you connected the phone to you're PC and that's sadly missing, and I think given that you can sync multiple PC's to Mesh but not your phone which is sadly a mess as you end up having to mail yourself favourites from PC to phone as well vice versa

Although Windows Live Mesh would be really good there is a way to map SkyDrive as a drive to your computer, letting you browse and edit the files you have stored on SkyDrive without going to the website. This means you can use the drive like your "My Documents" folder and it will mean you can access all your files on your phone or any PC.

        How to do this:
        1. In Office 2010 go to file, save and send, then save to web.
        2. Enter your Windows Live details
        3. Upload a file
        4. Click the "MIcrosoft Office Upload Center" icon in your taskbar (orange circle)
        5. Click "Recently Uploaded"
        6. Hover your mouse over the "Location" of the file
        7. Go to "My Computer"
        8. Right click and click "Add a network loaction"
        9. Click Next then next again, once on the page where you can enter the address you should enter the adress shown in step 6. e.g. https://d.docs.live.net/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
        10. Click next, give it a name and click next
        11. Click finish

These steps were done using Windows 7 and Office 2010, if you need more advice just search for it, there's loads of sites that explain what to do.

Folder sync and remote desktop from the phone! this would be a killer feature! No other mobile OS would have it.

It's common sense MS come on, it will be easy and its a cloud service

My vote FOR! The whole idea of SkyDrive is useless unless the files on all user's devices are synced automatically! The web-based SkyDrive is really uncomfortable in use. Windows Live Mesh is much better. Why should I upload some files to skydrive via browser? Mesh catches and syncs my files automatically, and I want them on phone, too, the same way I use them on PC. The best way I see it is to extend Live Mesh syncing capabilities for Windows Phone. Well, remote desktop is great, too, but the most important thing is file syncing. SkyDrive as it is now does not provide kind of united workspace.

Please include a better bookmar sync. I use chrome only because of its sync. Make it more seamless in ie. mesh integration is too clunky especially in the enterprise where bookmarks can be stored on the network and mesh doesn't support network drives.

I bought a Windows 7.5 phone when my Windows 5 phone died. With Windows 5, I used the ability to easily sync files from my desktop Windows computer to my WP 5 phone. I used to be able using Windows explorer on my desktop to drag and drop files in either direction between the two platforms. Why can't do that now? Sky Drive introduces uneeded additional steps.

Yes, if not Mesh Sync, at least I can see the files on the cloud in Mesh and attach it to an email. I really don't want to upload my docs on SkyDrive when I can put it in Mesh Folder on my PC. So far, I have to use IE Desktop Mode, which is annoying.

Yes, i need access to files in skydrive synced storage (live mesh)
Ideally these files should be inside the skydrive storage name space and not displayed seperately.

SkyDrive is great but I'm more into an official RDP from Microsoft since my computers are already running Mesh. It would be much easier this way and more secure than most third party clients.
