Many useful features are ignore by MS because they want good launch of upcoming WP 8 apollo. No expectation from upcoming(with doubt) update from MS. This is all MS business.

You can change the theme colour and the background, using iOS you can't change that.
I think Windows Phone is a nice OS, but there are still a lot of things to improve. -

@FDMS - Can you tell us some example of WP 7 Customization. I thing there is many feature need to be incorporate. WP 7 not a good OS. Very disappointment by Windows. :-(

You can listen to radio on speakers by pressing the frequency longer
I think WP7 is very customizable: You can change the whole appearance
