  I Dont understand how come this isnt a feature already. Some olders phones can do this. My theory is is that when you made these phones you should have taken the features that other phones have and then added your own stuff to it.

  The lack of this feature really is a bummer. I'm not so dramatic about it as everyone else, but when you have had the same SMS tone for 4 years, it is depressing to not be able to continue using it due to an iPhone level oversight.

  all I want is to hear my Mario coin collection sound effect when getting a text message.

  I like all the other users on here (and those who don't know about this site) am so not happy that, with all the mod cons phones have today, that I can not make my phone my own by simply adding my own Msg alert!!!! Shocking, to top it of, I would go back to my old phone but you've now made the sim card smaller!!! That you thought we would want???? hmmm NO!!!, quite simply we would all like to bring a touch of who we are no our phones!!!!

  I like my Nolkia 820 but come on! Why can't I change my alert,im and sms tones I want and not just the ones on the phone.

  Oh, and calendar notification is a joke at the moment. That's why I have to use alarm clock for notifications.

  This is the SINGLE biggest complaint I have with my #WP8 I need to customize my SMS alerts at night when I am on call and must WAKE UP if I get a page from my monitoring system. None of the built-in tones are capable of WAKING my up from my sleep :(

  Just send Joe Belfiore a friends request on Facebook. I'm going to bring this to his attention, that's if he even accepts my invite. This is a shame that we have to ***** and complain for a function that was available on Windows Mobile and not on this more advanced OS that is Windows Phone.
