In order to act like a business phone, wp8 should have all the ability to sync with microsoft outlook, although user is not using exchange.

        Nice job, Sylvain !
Is your app compatible with wp 7.8? Or only 8 ?

The biggest complaint people have had with Apple historically has been their insistence on tying everyone to their tightly controlled ecosystem. Of all the things Apple did right, it astonishes me that Microsoft would choose to emulate what what their customer's like least. Even Apple, in their restricted ecosystem, allows for xDAV support.

Personally I would never put my information out on the public data repositories of Google or anyone else with such loose privacy practices, xDAV protocols open up an entire world of interoperability, not just access to Google. I run my own cloud server that my whole family stays sync'ed up through right here in my livingroom. So, the true flexibility and autonomy that is afforded by the internet, whether it be to give away one's information to the public repository competitors of Microsoft, or keep their information private, is being restricted in the interest of corporate bickering. In short, the customer is suffering only because of a misalignment of priorities. Having invested in the Microsoft product I'd prefer to believe the lack of xDAV support isn't out of being to inept to do so.

I'll need to rid of my Nokia 920 soon if you don't support xDAV.

This is of utmost importance. I have no way to sync my calendars now. My school only uses Google Calendar.

This is urgent in lieu of Google's plans and really should have been added a long time ago.

So - when Jan 30 comes, we're screwed. Great.

Google pulling EAS support by the end of January 2013 makes this issue a dealbreaker. It is my understanding that Microsoft intends to 'stick it to the man' when it comes to Google's alleged antitrust offenses (http://goo.gl/9N7ja) and I am fine with that.

However, consumers can't wait another two years until the European Commission and/or the U.S. Federal Trade Commission finally decide to investigate. Microsoft needs to bite the bullet here and instruct the Office teams implement CardDAV/CalDAV support ASAP.

Lawyering up to fight Google must wait! Because by the time that trial ends - no matter what the outcome might be - it will be too late.

Access to a generic webdav folder in the Windows Phone 8 Office App would be a great enhancement. Also Access to thirdparty cloud spaces like dropbox would be nice. Currently the native Office App on my Windows phone 8 only supports for Skydrive and Office365

Now that Google are ending EAS support, this is important to allow people (including me) to move to WP8 without changing groupware provider.

CardDAV, CalDAV and WebDAV is a must.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but MS uses WebDAV all over the place(also in SharePoint and stuff) Some versions even have their name on it.
On the other hand, we have seen MS going away from it with Hotmail(icw with Outlook Express couple of years ago)

Yeah, with google killing EAS this is suddenly a huge requirement.

Looks like CalDAV is going to be necessary. The google sync works fine for now, but since it goes away...

I would agree. I just switched to windows phone only to find out yesterday that I can't use the google calendars I share with my wife. CalDAV support would be extremely useful!
