Forward a contact as vcard directly from phone
Like on the PC it should be possible to forward contact details (vcard) directly from the phone.

I'm not getting this. I can send contacts as V-Cards from my Lumia 920 by email to messaging. I sent one just now to my work email and it opened up just fine. I've also sent them to my hubby

Yes, I receive V-card data from folks and it's frustrating not being able to read the data. Also, like map locations, it would be great to have the ability to just send a contact over to someone via SMS.

Whether for business or private, the ability to forward AND save received "Contacts" has been a basic function of 99% of mobile phones for years - why has MS not teamed up with Nokia properly and made an OS that is not only robust but enhanced - ie better, rather than gone backwards. Comments from MS about slowly methodically moving forward with programming is a cop-out, they simply rushed to market with a substandard product hoping to stop the migration to iPhone. Until I got my Lumia-800 I would have nothing but a Nokia. Now I would be tempted to try anything that does NOT have a windows OS.
MS needs to place a status against each "Idea" or complaint to at least acknowledge if they are listening - or is this a repository of complaints that will hopefully stop people "going public".

Forwarding a contact via SMS, email, etc. is a very basic function. I'm embarrased for MSFT that this is not included in WP8. Time to step up and include features that are basic on other platforms.

I join those who simply cannot believe that Microsoft could have overlooked something so basic.

I just discovered this function is missing. Very basic for any business person, send and receive contact cards or vcards. How could this be missing from the OS? Particularly when appending vcards is a very commonly used function in MS's own Outlook.

How can this be missing?
If not as a vcard at least as text in a text message or e-mail!

This is one of those that isn't good for uservoice. It's such a basic, expected feature that there aren't too many people thinking of this in a "I have a good idea for Windows Phone!" kind of way. It would be like needing to vote up being able to put a call on mute. My phones as long as I could remember could send and receive contacts by SMS, somehow. And certainly they've been doing it via vCard forever. It's so embarassing to have iPhone-wielding clients send you a contact and to have to sheepishly ask the to copy and paste the number and resend.

It was embarrassing to find out this was not possible! I found "Forward Contact" to do the job.
But this should be an integrated function! -

This is a basic feature that is required and available in most phones(6.5 too had it). It should be integrated in the OS.

Yes, need to send contacts information as vCards (via MMS or email) or as SMS messages. This should be a simple option from an entry in the People hub. Additionally, need ability to receive (via MMS/email/text) contact information and save to a new contact record.

I need this feature too! Sending vcard via SMS, bluetooth, mail should be normal for modern mobile platforms, especialy for MS and Exchange user.
