  No brainer that variable speed playback should be implemented. This is a show stopper for so many people of have considered the move to the Microsoft OS. It is beyond belief that this feature is still lacking. The competitors must be smiling. Sad.

  I can't believe that nothing has been done to provide this much requested feature (ability to vary audio speed). Come on Microsoft / Nokia. Haven't you heard how many people are not going to move from IOS because of this feature. Please listen.

  Please, please add this feature. As an avid audiobook and podcast listener coming from iOS and Android I'm extremely disappointed that Windows 8 phone doesn't have this feature. Microsoft is creating a hazard to my health as the audiobooks I listen to at only 1x speed are putting me to sleep while driving ; )

  Android and iOS have this feature why not Windows?

  The lack of this feature is the most upsetting thing about moving to the windows phone platform. Audiobooks are dreadful when I can't listen at 3x or at least 2x speed. Please implement this ASAP

  I became accustomed to listening to podcasts and Audible audio books at high(er) speeds (with my iphones) and need Windows Phone OS to enable these apps to do the same. Step it up Msft!

  Must have 1.5x playing speed for audible. Otherwise, Windows phone is not sufficient.

  I use 2x audio playback for podcasts and audiobooks every day on my iPhone: I can't switch to Windows Phone without this. Would also like 1.4x for video, too. My upgrading to WP8 is blocked on this.

  Most of what I listen to on my phone are podcasts; I have days worth of podcasts on my Nokia. I don't want to have to carry an iPod and my 920 too.
