  FYI - This has been fixed in Windows Phone 8.

  This works if you set up the mail account as an Outlook type, rather than Windows Live. But that's no good for the default email address, as that is forced to the Windows Live type.

  This is the ONLY reason I keep a Gmail account in my phone. Is that important.

  On the Outlook.com IAmA they said any client that supports EAS 14 or higher would get flag support. So either we've been lied to about Windows Phone 7 or the Outlook.com team is wrong.

  There shouldn't be a reason why this works with Gmail and not with Hotmail on WindowsPhone...

  Please integrate this in your next update
  it would be also very nice if this could be integrated into windows live mail too
  it's a bit frustrating to search for flagged emails or have to go to skydrive only for that reason

  This is s crucial function, If i want you use hotmail productive. Please implement this in windows live mail too

  Actually, while Gmail's EAS implementation advertises that it supports flags, it doesn't actually sync with the service. If you flag something on the phone, it only shows on the phone. And of course, if you star something in Gmail, that will not show on the phone. Gmail's IMAP implementation supports flags properly. That is the only way to sync flags/stars from Gmail on Windows Phone, or any other smartphone for that matter.

  Maybe a Hotmail issue, but WP7 really needs to push them on this one - after all they all still fall under the same banner. Many WP7 users will be switching to hotmail for a better email experience under WP7, instead GMail and even Yahoo come out better. Please for Tango, this is a must!

  this is a Hotmail issue not WP7.5

  Flagging should be supported on all (IMAP4) email accounts. ATM, flagging is not supported for example on my university email account.
