Need check boxes or a delete all in SMS tile.
Text message tile/group needs ability to delete multiple messages more quickly. Something similar to how you can do the check boxes in the eMail client.

Basic cell phones have been able to do this since the dawn of time, and we STILL can't do it on a "smart" phone? Glad this is my work phone and not something I paid for...

there is no option to delete entire thread sms at a time, its really stupid, atleast create a application which can delete all the sms threads, there is no apps which can filter spam sms as its in Android..... WP still a long way to go...... WP more to learn from Android.......

Yes, like Benjamin pointed out that in emails check boxes are there, why isn't it available here?

AS all know ,china has many ads in SMS ,we have to delete them one by one .IF does,we can delete them at night in one minites

For me, this is one of the most annoying and frustrating omissions from WP 7.5. Seems they missed a few fundamentals first time around.. Really hope this gets rectified in WP 7.8.

To add upon this, adding the option to automatically delete messages after they are so old would be nice too. For example "Delete messages older than: X Days, X Weeks, X Months, X Years, Never"

This feature would make life ALOT easier...
When on-call for work I get 100+ unthreaded SMS messages per day - deleting them on at a time is very...unpleasant.

this is one of 2 key features I miss from android. absolutely crazy that this wasn't in original RTM! (the other is notification area)
