Add option to keep WiFi alive while the phone is locked

It would great if the wifi keep alive while the phone is locked. Adding an option in WiFi configuration screen.

        We need this on WP7.8 to yesterday!!!!!! This is a mandatory option...

        I came here just to suggest this very same idea... I can't understand why is not already an option, makes no sense, this NEEDS to be there, if not, what's the point on connecting the phone to my email accounts and facebook and whatsapp and all that if I'm gonna have to be manually checking it constantly?... it's annoying.

        This is a major fail on windows phone! Apps like skype, whatsapp and viber wont work since the phone disconnects when its locked!

        Sorely needed for WP7.x users...but I'm sure Microsoft will simply tell us to upgrade.

        Windows phone 7, es una patata... Y al actualizar a 7.8 Solo ha sido un lavado de cara, es patético y penoso... Que arrepentido estoy... Me voy a android mañana lunes compro móvil Samsung sin duda.

        this feature exists in my L920. go to settings>wifi>advanced>keep wifi on when the screen times out

        Estas son las principales cosas que deberian mejorar de windows phone 7.8:

        1_ No hayan solucionado el problema de la desconexión del wifi al bloquear el telefono.

        2_ No poder hacer uso del servicio de posicionamiento global (ante la perdida o el robo del equipo) del teléfono en el servicio exclusivo de Nokia-Windows Phone: "Encuentra mi Teléfono"; en el que debería aparecer en un mapa, el punto geográfico donde se encuentra nuestro teléfono desde nuestra cuenta de Windows Phone, en alguna PC con servicio de internet.

        3_ No poder bajar e instalar del Marketplace el ""Nokia READING"" que es un programa más que recomendado.

        Nota: Ya que el Adobe Reader falla con muchos pdf funcionales al 100X100.

        4_ No poder comprar el ""PES 2012"", porque no esta disponible en mi región.

        Nota: ¿¡Porqué si solucionaron varios problemas de región, no solucionaron aquello!?

        5_ No poder hacer una selección multiple para ELIMINAR muchos contactos, ""muchos mensajes"", muchas fotos, muchos archivos, videos, etc.

        6_ No poder hacer una selección multiple para enviar (por correo, mnsj de texto o Whatsapp) a muchos contactos un archivo, foto o video.

        7_ No poder hacer una selección multiple para MOVER muchos contactos (de sim al telefono o viseversa), muchas fotos, muchos archivos, videos, etc.

        8_ No poder agregar ringtones que duren más de 40 segundos.

        9_ No poder agregar un ringtone distinto al Whatsapp.

        10_ No poder poner página de inicio en internet explorer.

        11_ No poder usar el comando por voz sin datos ni wifi.

        12_ Poder comprar con crédito las aplicaciones pagas del marketplace.

        Mi windows phone es mas inestable con el nuevo sistema operativo windows phone 7.8. Es mas lento, los programas no se actualizaron en lo absoluto y faltan muchas opciones por agregar, tales como: Borrar multiples mensajes, borrar multiples videos, borrar multiples fotos, aumentar compatibilidad de programas, aumentar funcionalidades en los menues, colores etc... Hay muchas cosas por hacer. atte. Busconi Alejandro

        its available on the Nokia Lumia 920 windows phone 8 just go into settings>wifi>advanced> click keep wifi on when screen times out.

        Is there any reason why Microsoft have gone out of their way to STOP WiFi when the phone is locked? It defies logic to me.

        We really need this.. I was very angry, when the wifi isn't alive.. It's really irritating that I chat with someone, but if i lock the phone i don't get the message... I'm a really windows fan, but it's a huge mistake that you won't repair this... I won't buy again windows phone, if you don't repair this...This was a huge disappointment... (wp 7.8)
