SIM-ToolKit (STK)

SIM Toolkit is a very essential phone feature, especially in countries outside US and Europe. In Africa most mobile financial services run on the SIMCard

Folks, problem solved on Nokia Lumia - STK is hidden in menu under Settings/Mobile Network/SIM Application. For those in Kenya, MPESA is there!

To my previous comment (May 1) - I've found that when the phone is unlocked (i.e. I am working on it) then I can at least receive encrypted sms and decrypt it / read. So, I can manage my bank account. Hurray! Btw. I see no option how to access SIM Toolkit apps in any other way.

New Lumia 620 and still no sim toolkit. Bad thing is, I didn't even think of a phone that does not support such basic feature. Now I can't login to my bank account...

is microsoft doing anything abouut the STK services for sim cards or do we have to change phones and start using Android altogether coz clearly microsoft are really frustrating our efforts of buying windows products

Totally frustrated, no STK in Lumia phone. M-PESA is the order of my day. Microsoft do something and do it fastest.

It is a serious issue to omit such an
important feature. Nokia Lumia you need to address this!

I have Htc HD7 but am already considering switching to something else due to absence of STK. Windows need to avail us solution ASAP!

This very true. I got stranded and needed to use my M-PESA but it was nowhere on the apps list! I was petrified when I realized that my microSIM was of no use on an older miniSIM based phone. This is a glaring omission that makes it ****** for anyone to brag about their new Lumia.

Update (of sorts): I switched to a Lumia 800, and it has SIM applications under the settings! :D It was made for the China market, which presents one small issue: there's no Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn integration because they're banned in China. I think it is better to lose out on Facebook (there's an app for it anyway) and get my MPESA fully functional on my Windows Phone. I hope this helps somehow...
