  @wade, yeah that's what Mike said, but it would be way more efficient if you could type names alpha-numerically in the num pad

  This was much more efficient in WM 6.5 - you just opened the dialer and started typing.

  For example to ring "Dad" on WP7 I have to click People, then Search, then type in D, A, D, then click the result, then click "Call mobile - all up 7 clicks.

  In WM6.5 I clicked the dialer, typed D, A, D and pressed "Call mobile", a saving of 2 clicks (or about 30%)

  You can dial by name. Open the dialer. Touch the phonebook icon, then when the People Hub opens, touch the magnifing glass and then begin typing the person's name. Touch their name and then their number.
