Filter phone book by contacts with phone numbers when making a call
Tapping the phone icon, then the phonebook icon, should produce a list of contacts filtered by only those with phone numbers, not the whole list.

It is surprising this thread has been around about 2 years and I still have to use multiple accounts to make it happen. I bought the first batch of wp7 and now I use wp8 and I still have to doing so. What are you guys doing? You are making a phone, a device for calling and talking, not a tablet, an ultrabook, a PDAor aPC!

You can do this by choosing the option show only contacts with phone numbers on the definitions on contacts

I would also add that there should be a filter option to show only contacts from the phone. As it is now all the contacts from Windows Live and from the phone appear together. I dont want to necessarily have my contacts from Windows Live on my phone (esp since most of them are just email addresses).

This is so f*cking stupid that they don't have this feature. I have 25 of these phones in our office.
Who the f*ck is working at this company?!?! Absolute lunacy!

This is a must have imo, its the only thing thats making me annoyed at WP7. I don't care about Bob on facebook or dave on windows live, i just want to call my 75yr old nan!
Its a pain to have to go through all your windows live contacts (i have around 500) just to find a phone number which was imported from the sim card. Please sort this out! -

I agree also, when I press the call tile I should only see people in my contact list who have phone numbers in their contact card.

If you are using the phone, you should be able to just pull up just your contacts that have phone numbers.

We already have a people list. If I want to contact a person by whatever means I have, I can use the people hub. But, there is currently no way to filter contacts by those with phone numbers. Not even with groups - those have a restriction on the number of contacts per group. If you don't desire to have a phone list filtered by contacts with phone numbers, then use the people hub instead of the phone tile.

Ha ha...smartphones are for people who are not smart in organizing their data.
Apparently you are smart(er) than the average smart phone user who is very disorganized when it comes to data. Too many friends, too many connections...surely one cannot remember whether you have a phone# kr email address with you. -

I don't try to call people I don't have a phone number for. The point of a phone is to talk aloud. I am not going to click on a messenger contact expecting magically I will have their phone number when I know I don't.

So you click on the phone tile, search for ms. Luv kitty in the contacts, and you realize that she has no phone number. What will you do next?

Uh no. What is the point of having a phone tile if it's the same as the people tile? I don't want to contact luvkitty5656@hotmail.com from my Live Messenger contact list when I want to make a call.

That is not desired. for the simple reason that your intention is to contact that person. when you click on that contact and find out that there is no phone number, you automatically have the option of sending an email instead.

Good idea. Could work the other way too. Eliminate contacts where you you have only the phone number but no email or text messaging options for them.

I agree completely! It seems the phone tile should be more than just a call history log.

agreed; when I make a call, I want to see only those contacts with phone numbers - not everyone in Windows Live (which I can't call anyways). Android has the option "Only contacts with phones".
