allow location services for specific apps only
Allow location services to be turned on for individualy selected apps instead of a global setting.
Location services should also be 'switchable' by connection, so separately selectable for wifi and 3/4G, as there are potentially data costs associated with the latter.
E.G. I'd like to get the traffic updates whilst still at home (wifi) but do not want the charges when I'm on the road.
Apps are increasingly asking for location that don't need it. There needs to be a way to deny location to individual apps!
my Lumia 800 shows my location 15 km away ( on wireless) as my provider has his location there
there should be an option to set the location manually
I would like to contorol if an individual applications have access to my location. I want my mapping application to have access to location information but do not see why a game needs to know where I am. Just a simple list in the settings that I can turn locations on or off for each application.
Please provide a way for users to see all applications that use phone location information and provide a way to turn it on or off for each application.
As far as I can tell, the only way to manipulate which apps can get location information is if the application allows you to change it within the app, but you have to open each app and dig around to figure it out if it's even an option in the app. Or, you uninstall the application altogether. Or, turn off location services for EVERYTHING. Many apps can function perfectly fine without requiring the users location. And, users should have the ability to choose whether a particular app is allowed to access location information.
