The lumia 800 doesnt hold the software capable of making the mobile a WP8 device apparently, at least thats whats been said by Microsoft.

What's unfair about not being to upgrade my WP7 to WP8, is that my carrier does not sell WP8 devices yet! I can't upgrade even if I had the money to do so! This is ridiculous, Microsoft. Stop abandoning your loyal users. I, for one, was abandoned once as a Zune owner and a second time as a WP7 owner.

I just hope it happens and of it does I thank them very much but if not well I like my Nokia Lumina 900, 7.5 just the way it is.

Most get a free upgrade every two years in the US. focusing on two year old devices is a lot of investment for something that 90% of buyers won't use. You are the extreme minority here and should go buy a ****** android if you don't like it.

Am not saying to upgrade my phone...windows 8 should be available to all....i think Microsoft purposely not doing because they want us to leave our current phone buy new one.....so that to increase their sale...but it will backfire....i will never going to any more windows phone in future....

Sure, upgrading the Omnia is technically possible. But why would they put the resources behind upgrading a 2 year old phone? How much demand is there for that exact model on Windows 8?

It's pretty absurd to expect that.

If Nokia 620 can handle windows 8 then why not my Samsung Omnia..... Nokia 620 having processors 1ghz and Omnia is having 1.5.....ram is same....why upgrade is not possible for my mobile.

This impossible as the wp8 has a completely different kernel. Wp8 biggest purpose is to bring pc's, tablet's and phone's os a little closer.

I agree. All of the apdates are to windows phone 8, and they are forgetting the windows phone 7,5 . We would like to have the same look and the same improve software

Its not fair that we have to buy an all new phone for windows phone 8.

It is stupid to expect a company to dumb down their software for outdated hardware. Supporting the past impedes the future. If you really love the OS, accept that your hardware can't run what they want to add into the new OS and that you will HAVE to buy hardware to get those new features.

And they DID meet you in the middle with the upgrade of 7.8. You will get some of the software features that you CAN run, but most of Win Phone 8 is tied to hardware requirements that your current phone DOES NOT have.

        Bad move Microsoft.

I love my WP 7.5, but if this is the way that Microsoft is going to do business, I will begin looking for other options.

Wish I had known that I would not be able to update my Lumia to Windows 8. As much as I like the Lumia, knowing I would not being able to update the OS would have changed my decision to purchase the Lumia. I should have known better, this seems to be MS SOP to leave current users behind when they come out with a new version of something!!!
