This is such an important feature ALL phones should have. Police told a daughter to start saving texts from an "EX". In court it played out and the daughter won sole custody. More than ever before, this feature is not only needed but should be required!

Just to explain this a bit further.
It could be used to save messages from all the sources, Facebook/Twitter/SMS etc.

You would then be able to save them to organized folders. If there are certain messages from a loved one that are particularly special, you would then save them to a custom-named "Sentimental" folder. That way you do not need to sift through endless messages to read over ones that are important.
Likewise, if you receive special instructions or important information that you need to recall frequently, it would be convenient to be able to save these in a separate folder. Then, even if the Thread gets deleted, you still have these individual messages.

The only way at the moment would be to forward a text message to your own email account, and store them in Labels or Folders. This would be a nice feature on the actual OS itself.
