It is absolutely ridiculous that a Windows Phone O/S does not sync (BTW 'sync' means TWO WAYS, not just a one-way copy of data!) with my Windows PC and Windows Outlook! Requiring small business / home users of Outlook to buy Exchange or Office 365 to make their phones work is extortionate. Previous phones with different operating systems worked perfectly without any add-ons!

I had to move 10 generations back and do what I had to do on my first Palm Pilot, add categories into the notes section, e.g.: _HSR-US. This is the only way I have found to filter my Windows Phone People by category.

Let us choose how many past weeks we want to synchronize in the calendar !!!

Not all of us can have Exchange, or need Exchange service.
Not all of us can reliably sync with the cloud.
I hope it's a Patent Issue... then it would be a legitimate reason why not to have it.

My main reason to buy WP8 is full sync with outlook desktop (as I worked with blackberry). Microsoft need to review asap. Other thing: I tried Akruto software to sync and this did it OK. For my surprise WP8 calendar does not have a "search" option to find specific tasks and appointments. It is so basic functionalities....please Microsoft...please...

Our whole firm runs off Outlook Tasks, need them to be able to be filtered and sorted, as for Notes, integral as we have Customer information in Notes.

What a shame that this suggestion has become nothing more than a place for Akruto staff to post the same or similar commentary on a regular basis. A real shame. It's also a shame that Akruto doesn't sync multiple/select Outlook contact folders (it only syncs the main Contacts folder). And that's just for starters. Come on, MSFT! You're getting CRUSHED in market share. Get in the game!! Cloud computing is a lost leader.

Akruto Sync should sync your contact pictures without any problem. All my pictures were neatly synchronized.

MS should provide this free of charge. how come this happen. I use contact list in outlook with nice pictures. When I sinc .. oh no pictures!! what a shame.
no software available in the market to do a simple job like this? When I used android, this was easy. i can make copies, make vCards.
I hope MS will try and solve this problem sooner. -

Hello everyone, I was so psyched to stumble upon Akruto Sync program. It is incredibly good and works so smoothly! They have a free trial and it costs $19.95 after that, a one-time license fee. It is as close to a full sync with Outlook at it can get and is so much better than all the alternatives I have tried. http://www.akruto.com/get-akruto-sync/

Unbelievabe! so disappointed with my new WP8(lumia 920T), Windows 8(surface pro and desktop) and Office 365! When I got them I assumed they would have a seamless sync on everything, through skydrive or whatever you called as cloud servcie. I can hardly believe that nothing can be fufilled except a stumbling online storage space: transfering is killing, because you guys have no server in China. In business use, it shouldnt take too much time to 'play' with all of these products, they are tools and they have to be working efficiently. I used to utilize bluetooth Nokia suite to sync between my cell and desktops in my offcie and at home 4 years ago. And now , in 2013, I cannot even use it back, because there is no Nokia Suite for win 8 anymore. So disappointed with Microsoft products.

I use Akruto Sync and think it is a perfect direct sync solution. Never had an issue. Everything is so well explained. Costs $20 but worth every penny.

Get it together outlook! How many years will it take for you to do what Sony PEG SJ-22 was doing 15 years ago?

Incredibly disappointed, borderline disgusted with this phone. When I purchased it I assumed it would have a seamless sync with Outlook across my wireless network, so I didn’t even inquire about it. I cannot believe that capability does not exist with this phone. If I didn’t have a big penalty, I would return this phone immediately. I purchased an app that worked perfectly for my DROID; Windows doesn’t even have that option. Pathetic!

I bought an unlocked Nokia 620 because the Nokia brand by now has a reputation for good cameras (needed a camcorder) and I wanted to stay on top my Outlook and OneNote entries; so the Office integration seemed really like a plus, that was the selling point.
Now I have a phone I cannot sync with OneNote from my company laptop (even saving to Skydrive from the laptop doesn't work, these Notebooks from 2010 aren't even recognized by the phone). My company laptop has some restrictions regarding cloud computing, we won't be using Skydrive in the next year. My Exchange server is also blocked for Windows Phone.
Akruto looks like a pain, although it syncs at least my calendar and tasks. I wanted a simple, functioning USB sync (maybe bluetooth). I use the cable for charging anyway during the day. The file system is also very restricted. I also miss my Android fully fledged file system.
Nokia also abandoned simple but important things like a data counter for 3G to keep data plans under control. There are few things I do like about the phone, but missing so many basics shows a huge lack of understanding the business prosumer market. Not happy. #epic #fail -

I am seriously considering going back to Blackberry given the inability to sync without using the cloud. It is incomprehensible to me that a non-Windows platform has a better sync option than Windows. I thought Microsoft would have known better than to think that everyone would be willing to load all information in the cloud. Obviously, they didn't have the right people "sitting at the table." Please fix because I used the akruto sync option and there are too many glitches and I don't have the time to continue to work with the programmers. They are very helpful, but Windows should provide this without needing to go to a third party. Doesn't this sound illogical Microsoft? My remaining 6 votes will be posted on this subject.

I definitely want to be able to sink all my information from my phone to and from Outlook. This hotmail and sky does not work for me. I'm looking for an alternative now, for when I upgrade to my next phone. I HATE THIS ATTEMPT TO TRACK AND GET EVEN MORE FROM USERS!
