Sync text messages!

Zune should have a feature that lets users save/sync their text messages to their computer. Some people treasure their messaging history with others.

I've never used "Zune" but I still find it hard to believe that Windows Phone 8 does not allow one to manage one's SMS's from one's computer. Text messages can have legal implications; it's important to be able to see them also on a big screen so you can organize them properly; select which ones to keep and which to delete, etc., view more of a thread than you can see on a little phone screen. Composing and typing text messages from a proper keyboard is also useful at times. PLEASE give back to us loyal Nokia-to-Windows Phone migrators something like this kind of functionality we became used to in Nokia Suite.

It's a basic-function which every OS has... So sad, that Microsoft forgets the People, who believed in Windows Phone from the beginning and only supports the WP8-People... I wanted too buy a WP8-Device, but if I lose my text messages anyway, I can also buy another OS :(

Yes, I have used Nokia PC Suite not only to sync text messages, but also to compose the messages on the PC - which is much more convenient and quicker.

Without this feature which Nokia Suite has been doing for years, the Lumia 920 is a huge step backward! This feature is important not just for personal users but is even more important for business users.

Nokia PC Suite has been doing this for years. Don't make me feel like I downgrade switching from N8 to Lumia 920. This feature should definitely be there.

I'm also disgusted that Windows/Nokia haven't thought about creating a software that sync text messages! I cannot understand why a very basic and needed feature isn't included. The feature is normally included in most smartphones since for Gods sake. I'm really puzzled.! This problem with the non-existing syncing option of texts, along with the other daily problems I currently have with my nokia lumia 800 just makes a tricked fool out of me. Luring consumers into buying a smartphone called a "work phone" etc. at the stores for such overprices(!) is the most deceptive or fraudulent market act of 2012 by far. How much have W/N earned from selling prototypes as full featured smartphones ?

Really need this basic feature to keep my text messages like on Nokia suite

Sending text messages trough the computer is the most important thing at work that i need to do... They just cancelled this feature when they started with the lumia series... The nokia suite won't work anymore.... ZUNE needs the same features ASAP!!!!!

Please allow for sms's to sync to outlook, as a bonus sending texts from outlook would be great! If all else fails please provide a basic sms backup app so I don't loose all sms's again when something goes wrong and my phone needs te be reset. Also when upgrading I need to take my sms messages to my new device

I did this with our Exchange 2010 server and Win Mobile 6.5 By far one of the best features left out. They would sync to my outlook and i could then send txt from my outlook. PLEASE bring this back

I had this option on my windows phone 6.1 sync with Microsoft Myphone, 5years ago.

I'm disgusted that Windows/Nokia haven't even thought about creating a software that sync text messages. I could do with this feature to print off messages as evidence for legal reasons, but to no avail! Bring back Nokia Suite it was much better and easier to deal with than having to go to sky drive, windows live and Zune.

Also needed is the ability to type text messages at the computer keyboard and then send them via the phone - maybe using the USB cable (as In Nokia Ovi Suite).
Infact, in a nutshell, what is needed is full management of texts/SMS on the computer via the USB cable.
I know Skype can send texts (but they don't always work!) but even so the texts do not form part of the same 'conversation' that you have been having over the phone!

Yes please. I really want to backup my SMS history before changing or resetting my phone. On a Lumia 800 this is apparently impossible, even as a phone developer.

I recall that Microsoft had this for Windows Mobile - I think was called MyPhone
It sync'd all text, pics, contacts, notes, and many more to the service in the "cloud". As long as they bring the "MyPhone" service to Windows Phone ill be happy.

        good suggestion though.
