Option to auto silent notifications at night

I think there should be an option in the settings to auto silent notifications at night if the phone would be with the screen facing down. This way you wouldn't have to silent your phone before you go to sleep, the e-mail or sms notifications wouldn't disturb you while sleeping and in case of an emergency you could still receive urgent phone calls.

A feature like the 'do not disturb' on the iPhone would be very (very very usefull). It's annoying during the night when you forget to mute the phone and you receive a mail or a sms.

Good idea, that is already available at other OSs. We should be able to set up a list of people (like a favorites or family group) that overrides the silent mode.

All that sounds great to me. I would add them all :D
        Silence while charging.
        Silence at certain periods
Silecence when paired with devices or an specific charging plate (Use of NFC?)

I think that it could add value to the plataform and it can be easy to implement.

An easier implementation would be the option to silence notifications while charging. Maybe an optional prompt when you plug it in to silence until disconnected? Or an option to always silence while charging with a charging plate.

I think a lot of people charge at night while they sleep so it seems like an obvious trigger.

I've had a Win8 phone for about a week and I'm noticing small, but important things like this, that I had on Android for years, missing. Turning the phone off every night isn't a very good solution.

The iOS feature for night mode works perfectly for me - something like that please!

This is one feature I actually miss after switching to WP from iPhone.

I still want to receive calls from people on my family or work list for emergencies, but I don't want a ping for every little weather/email/text/call from everyone in the middle of the night

BlackBerry has "Bedtime mode" and it works perfectly...take a look for yourself, MS.

Great idea. I suggest to add in the settings the possibility to set the time due to execute the auto sync

        Yes plsssss!!!

I can't wait for this app, i need it a lot!!!

Maybe with an app where i can choose the time to put in silent (at night) and put it with sound (at morning)!

I think something to shut off the notifications at night is a good idea. Maybe set a time that they would get silenced, but keep things like your alarm turned on. That way, at 22:00 every night, you don't have to worry about getting a "ding" for a message, but your alarm will still go off at 0600 (for example).

Pin your Settings to the home screen. When you go to bed, hit the airplane mode and you're done.

Facing down would be a problem, if you lay down with your phone in the pocket.

Option to SCHEDULE all connectivity modules on and off! And sound/vibrating/muted profiles too.

It's just obvious idea, and Microsoft even doesn't give an access to developers for working straightly with connectivities.
And there is no useable management of them. Shame.
