Continue to use Zune for media sync in WP
The WP sync app/manual copy is inferior to Zune for syncing media. Return to Zune for syncing media, including playlists and play counts.

I hate to say it guys but all of this appears to be a joke to someone at MS. If anyone cared there would have been a solution to this a long time ago. I've had to replace my Lumia 920 three times due to it bricking on me and in every case all of the music I downloaded from Xbox music pass is LOST!! I have no way of knowing what was on my previous phone. This was never a problem with Zune. All I had to do was log in and on my computer and pull up the previous phone ID and walla. Everything was backed up and all I had to do was pick them again to be downloaded to my phone. Long Live Zune!!!!

I am really upset with this. One of the reasons I loved wp7 was Zune. It did exactly what I wanted, how I wanted, when I wanted. Wireless sync, auto playlists, music pass, podcasts etc.
The new Sync app for wp8 is buggy as **** doesn't have the flexibility to properly manage my collection, and every other solution I have tried is downgrade from Zune

I just read through this thread... it's as if 2 or 3 people are speaking over and over and over... but it's not. Hundreds of users echoing the same sentiments about Zune... I really hope they move Zune's feature set to whatever-app they go with next.

I had to suffer through 2 years of Zune growing pains and now that the software is FINALLY USABLE they're *replacing it*???
"Who is making these decisions at Microsoft?"
That's a good question. As I read users in forums all over the internet post this question, I can't help but think at the very root of this question is the simple & painful realization that a product from MS can no longer be "enjoyed". Out of the box, it won't work as advertised, and by the time it becomes "useful" and "enjoyable", it's on the chopping block.
MS' business model is no longer to create a product and perfect it; but rather to create and improve a product only until it becomes useful- then kill it. Once you understand that, MS products no longer look attractive.
All you have to do is look at the Xbox, then look at the PS3. Sony got it right from day 1 and MS is still trying.
"Microsoft- wake up!"

The ONLY reason I left my beloved Android phone for WP8 was so I could have my music on my phone. Since my Zune shuts off when I run I needed a new solution. This is UNACCEPTABLE. Can transfer my Zune subscription music to my phone. In addition to the alarming lack of apps (SiriusXM, etc.), the inability to get ALL of my music on this phone essentially renders it useless to me. I wholly regret this purchase and wish MS would get it together.

I love the way MS kill the what got them to where they are now. Without the Inquisition of Zune and the great work they did for UI's MS would still be lagging behind Apple.

I haven't read all of the comments below, but I'm pretty sure that I agree with all of them. I bought the Windows Phone based on having my Zune back in the day (R.I.P!!). Everything about the Zune experience worked, it was AMAZING! This new software is garbage. I will continue to try learning how to use it, but I really really hope you at least meet us halfway on this one. Android and Apple started with a huge lead, and it looks like you will lose quite a few consumers on your side if this issue is not handled.
Main issues: Lack of Xbox video support on the phone, poor playlist editing/syncing experiences. Bugy syncing software (sometimes it works, sometimes my computer doesn't even see my phone, etc etc).

I couldn't agree more with the comments others have made on this topic. The Zune software and music experience are/were VASTLY superior to the new WP8 phone-sync-app, which is "buggy" at best and useless at worst. Additionally, this new system has rendered my Music Pass to being a waste of time and $$, and has ruined my ability to have easily store music and songs on my computer and phone. As for the ability to create music-playlists---this new method of creating the lists on the WP8 phone is absolutely AWFUL, compared to the easy system which was Zune. Please make some improvements and updates to this disaster---SOON.

Please support and build on the existing wonderful, great ZUNE PC Software and restore the syncing to Windows Phone 8 and beyond. The Zune PC Software is easy to use, has great functionality (except for missing Windows Phone 8) and it looks amazing! It's graphics are cutting edge, even now, today. (Go ahead and rename The ZUNE PC SOFTWARE it if you think you need to rebrand it.)
Take the software as it is today, with it's syncing to Windows Phone 7 as a starting point. Add in Windows Phone 8 syncing. Then you could be done, for now. Or, you could improve it, making it even better. (Please don't remove any more features. You have removed too many features already.)
I really think MS has made a huge mistake by not recognizing what superior piece of software ZUNE is. Admittedly, most people don't know it, but it is far better than that other popular piece of music software.
Thank you.

Should have just updated the Zune app with a new name since Zune branding is dying. The windows phone app is just horrendous.

Its so frustrating trying to upload new music to my phone, it either duplicates or doesn't upload at all. Zune was one of the reasons i made the move to Windows phone. We need it back!

I just hope they are working on rebranding of Zune or on a suitable replacement for Zune, but not on fixing bugs in the horrendous WP8 sync app.

Have to say I really miss my iPhone now. VERY disappointed with the current inability to sync music properly! Mutiple files which cripple the speed of my phone! How long will it take to sort these problems!?!

Zune wasn't perfect, but it is now my baseline. Either match its functionality for WP8, or I will go back to Android at my next phone purchase. You guys are losing customers over this. Please don't let me add my name to that list.
I am already ****** enough that I upgraded to Windows 8 and and can't use Zune Wireless Sync anymore. Can't believe you guys did that to your existing user base. -

I am trying hard to continue to be a MSFT fan. I have my Surface, Windows 8 laptop, X-Box and Lumia 920. Why is syncing so difficult? Something that should be trivial, is entirely too complicated and frustrating. My music does not sync seamlessly across devices. I want to use custom sync folders, no seemingly feasible way of doing this. I now have Windows Phone App, Windows Phone App Desktop 3 preview, and Zune on my laptop. Not one of these accomplishes my needs. And I am still left with the inability to create bulletproof playlists and a consolidated and unified music library across all devices. Please get this fixed. As others have noted, the Zune software was not perfect but so much more configurable and enjoyable over the current solutions for WP8/Windows 8. Love what MSFT is doing these days. But please take care of the basics such as sync'ing and playlists.

No "select all" in the windows phone app...
That speaks volumes about how atrocious it is. Bring back Zune, let us sync wirelessly again!
