The WP sync app/manual copy is inferior to Zune for syncing media. Return to Zune for syncing media, including playlists and play counts.

You MS jokers better get your stuff together!. One of the main reasons I decided to stay with a Windows Phone when upgrading is the ZUNE feature. Without it I may as well gone to Android or something. You guys are going to really mess it up with the Windows Phone customers. Thinking of returning mine!!!

I have had it. See ya MS I have ditched the WP8 for an IPhone 5. At least it works well with iTunes and is reliable. For shame MS. Hang you head in shame for not listening to you customers.

I used my WP7 (HTC Trophy) for music all the time. Now I have a Nokia Lumia 822 and opt to use my ZuneHD 64GB instead. Xbox Music is a train wreak. I loved the fact that with the Zune Client I could rip my music as WMA Lossless and have the client re-encode it to WMA-Pro for use on mobile devices. That is now MIA. Just update and rebrand the Zune Client and be done with it.

I was going to go get the Lumia 928 tomorrow. After reading this I have decided to not do so. The main reason I went with the WP7 last year was because I had Zune and the HD. In the last year I have found myself always playing off my phone and leaving the HD at home. Now I see this **** and I am starting to regret ever going with Zune and WP in the first place. I thought when I first went with Zune (dumped Rhapsody because of many syncing issues) that this would be a platform that will be around and will work. Microsoft is behind this! LMFAO......fooled like a sucka. Should have done iTunes and their phone.

I agree with Josh...just own up to it and give us some sign of a fix. Something that gives us a sense of hope for an update. It sucks just waiting and thinking that no one cares.

Please, for the love of all that's good and holy, make the Zune app compatible with WP8. Heck, rebadge it as the Xbox Music Desktop app if needs be.
I just switched from an HD7 running WP7.5 to a Lumia 521 running WP8 and I was floored by how abysmal the music management model is in WP8. It worked great with WP7.x and Zune and it's now an un-intuitive, inconvenient, buggy disaster.
Do the right thing MS and allow us to use the application that actually worked great when you first rolled WP out.

Syncing my playlist has been a huge nightmare on my lumia 920... I am forced to stream with music services like Pandora and Nokia music, but both of those don't satisfy my music needs. Zune worked perfect... and I find myself going back to my Samsung focus a playlist, this doesn't work :/

Changing Zune to Xbox Music is like Apple saying 'actually it turns out we don't want iTunes anymore".

Please allow Zune to work with Windows Phone 8. Seems more and more that Windows is forgetting it's customers. First no google cal synch now this. Either give me back Zune or a similar tool that will allow XP/Phone 8 to sync and manage via desktop.

This was a reason I hung on to WP 7 devices but now that I got a Lumia 521, I can see why the new version is sad. It barely detects my phone, adding files to the SD card was much faster and the Xbox music service is just a half baked idea to Microsoft unification of their services. The existing services in place worked properly and instead of improving it, Microsoft decided to be stupid and put out a Windows ME version of the sync software.

Please get an update for Zune to allow Windows Phone 8 devices to sync with it. Re-branding Zune as Xbox Music would the easiest solution.

I just got a Lumia 521 and I am not happy with not being able to use the Zune software to synch my music. I had to reset my phone because I could download the Zune Pass Music but I could not play it or remove it for my phone. Please make it where we can use the Zune Player with our Windows 8 Phones. I would not have upgraded (got a new phone) if I knew this was the case.

The whole reason I got a windows phone is so i can keep using the zune software to sync my music. The new thing looks boring and lazy compared to what I'm used to

I have been using the Zune software and the Zune HD for years. I am also a big Win8/ WP8 fan. It is an absolute PITY that Microsoft decided to leave behind all of the great work they did with Zune for this 2 day hack of an intern project that is the sync tool they have now. RIDICULOUS!
For those who have not had the pleasure of the Zune experience, some of the best things going are (1) the beautiful user interface, the artwork rendering etc (2) smart DJ (3) superb playlist functionality (4) tag songs from HD radio and buy online (5) share songs with friends (6) wifi sync (7) equalizer (8) superb sync experience.
Yes, Zune had its share of problems, it was not perfect. But it was one heck of a platform that was so well done in so many ways. The marketers got to the C suite folks who decided to kill off the Zune. Logically, Microsoft should have just renamed it to XBox Music and dedicated resources to fix the bugs and build on the great platform - instead of investing in the 2 days worth of interns that produced the current sync crapware.
WHO ELSE AGREES WITH ME HERE??

Its impossible to manage the music while it's on the phone. (Change artist name for exemple) The only way is to delete it from the phone and to put it back on it wich is realy too much complicated. It would be so much easier if the phone was syncing with zune, wich is a great software. Cmon Microsoft, i know you can do it, please us all, we deserve it.

Give Zune back. It was GREAT! (however, add a rating system to it other than a heart!)
