Data Sense: Enable it for 'unlocked' phones
There is no reason why unlocked phone owners should suffer the effects of carrier exclusivity when it comes to WP8 specific features.
We pay 500-800 EUR/USD for our phones, carriers do not subsidize it for us, yet, we are still controlled by them.
I ask Microsoft to enable Data Sense feature (at least reporting, if compression is too much to ask) for all Windows Phone users, Android has had it for years.

This is absurd.even with an unlocked phone you can't get a feature that is supposed to be part of the OS!!! I don't see why carriers should be left to decide, they're interested in people using more data and paying more. Come on Microsoft. You're really making it difficult for me to convince myself I made the right choice...can't even change data speed on an at&t either.

Pelo amor de Deus, não existe um telefone dessa categoria sem ter um aplicativo para nós controlarmos o tráfego de dados, etc....

At least give us the possibility to set a " data limit " option and a monthly reset by date.... At least

Just want to say that a family member wanted a windows phone but we will be getting an android phone for him because AT&T does not support data sense.
Cannot believe unlocked windows phones are left without it as well.
Poor decision making in my opinion. Digging your own grave Microsoft.

HI, I am from India, here mobile operators doesn't provide apps for windows phone. And my phone is unlocked because in India we have the freedom to choose any operator while keeping same handset.
So currently we have no way to get data sense. At least release it for unlocked phones. -

LOL. I have to hand it to Microsoft, they really screwed the pooch on this one. I swear they advertised this as a feature (and reason) to upgrade to WP8! I'm just disappointed that even unlocked phones are STILL at the mercy of carriers. :( You know that saying 'good thing's come to those who wait'? Yeah, I think I'm still waiting for something good like this to arrive. :)

It's ridiculous how this has still not be supplied to all Windows Phones. Even just data monitoring and management at the very least.

Data Sense is a MUST for all phones, whether locked or not. We simply need help to understand which apps are using what amounts of data and, when roaming, the ability to set certain data hungry apps to manual rfresh rather than automatic. Microsoft and Nokia need this fast or I'm going back to Blackberry!

How can MS justify not providing a Data Monitoring service in a modern smartphone in 2013? Really unprofessional and unacceptable.

I couldn't understand why people are saying it's carrier specific feature.
From my Nokia 6600 to Nokia N8, I had "LOG" feature and which contains complete Call Register list + Total Data used [Upload/Download+Reset].
Now stop saying it's carrier specific. Common the data is going in and out of mobile and you are saying it's carrier dependent.
Between I am from India, We dont' have carrier mobiles. only Unlocked mobiles

I'd just like to clarify something. The data tracking feature of Android was only introduced with the Ice Cream sandwich update released in October of 2011, so just over 15 months which is a far cry from 'years' as the OP has suggested. I'm sure data tracking is still not an option on iOS natively; you need an app to manage data for you!
