WP8.1 will have a close button, so I think this request is best declined by the team

It would be nice to be able to close Ie without having to tap backwards through a million browsed pages!

I have found that double tapping the back button within an app seems to close the app (it removes it from the running applications page). Is this the method WP8 uses to close apps? It is my understanding that the apps actually pause and never really close, but this method seems to work when restarting a frozen app.

This is my main issue. The way we have you have back to close apps?! Really like the idea of swipe yo close in the multitask screen.

We all know that Windows core does care for dehydrating apps that are not in use for a while. But that however does not solve the clutter problem. We really need this feature to be able to manually exit the app and free some room for the sake of usability. My Windows keeps open many of the apps I won't need shortly and I'd love to be able to manually close those simply because of the room they use. I don't feel I like scrolling through the list of open apps to switch between; if I had an option to close unused apps manually, that would've saved me from doing that.

Great feature !!!! i really need this !!!
scrolling woulndt be a problem as i don't have a problem with that on my Surface....

The multitasking window must be the same as MeeGo ...

this would kill Android's Multitasking window.

Yeah, I would prefer this not be in the application proper but rather in the mutitask screen. Sort of like Android's recent apps button.

Would be great in the multitasking screen. I miss some possibility to close apps right there.

Disastrous!!! Maybe in the multitasking screen, but when in it? **** no.

To be able to do it with 2 fingers swipe down. And also add more multitouch gestures!!!

Potentially run finger from top right to bottom left of screen in one movement should minimise the app.

this could be useful /IF/ implemented in the multitasking "card" view (The screen that appears when you hold in the back button.). It would sort of be a reverse version of WebOS' card view (Whereas WP you would flick down in WebOS you flick up)
