Store apps & attachments on external storage and improve/provide micro SD support
Allow users to store apps & files (mail attachments, internet explorer downloaded files, etc.) on external storage such as microSD.
Display files on a micro SD (doc, pdf, etc). Installing the application on a micro SD. Transfer files from the micro sd by mail, bluetooth.
Storage Sense, in Windows Phone 8.1, helps to maximize your space, whether it is on your phone or an SD card. It shows how much you are using and makes it easy to transfer items from what spot to another to help you free up space
great ans what about the devoted windows 8.0 users that can't upgrade to 8.1 without buying a new phone?
i want install application in micro sd card.
Thx, Win Phone 8.1 looks really neat. It solves (more or less) the storage problems I had with my HTC 8S.
That's really good. But I'm using Lumia 625 With windows 8 - Black.
Is it possible to upgrade to Windows 8.1.

This is an improvement but not enough one that I wait for Windows Phone.
I CLEARLY wait for a file manager that give me THE OPPORTUNITY TO CLEAN UP MY "OTHER MEMORY" AREA that is conquered by unknown "PIRATE MEDIA FILES" completely out of my control.
These files occupy three times bigger area than my whole apps and mentioned mail attachements. (more than 4GB v.s. 1,5Gb)
So, the possibility to manage to store the apps and some recognised files in the SD card is important but unfortunately not of primordial importance.
I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO FREE UP THIS HUGE OCCUPIED "OTHER MEMORY" AREA BY UNKNOWN "MEDIA FILES"

This didnt address our issue. We would fill delighted if we are able to load apps into the SD card attached with the phone.
That doesn't really address my comment, however. It's just a work-around for a design deficiency. What is really needed is to fix the problem.
I appreciate your hard work WP Team
Install app on SD card that it can help us to more
Now!! You can install 8.1 now! Through the Microsoft Developer Preview system introduced so that everyone can get every update immediately.
1) Go to http://appstudio.windowsphone.com/?stay=1 and click “Start new project”.
2) Sign in with the outlook account you use with your Windows Phone.
3) Select a username (not important), tick “I agree”, and then click register.
4) On your phone, download the “Developers Preview” app (http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/preview-for-developers/178ac8a1-6519-4a0b-960c-038393741e96) – you can actually install apps to the phone from the internet!!
5) Open the app, sign in with your account, agree to the terms and click “Enable Preview for Developers”.
Then update to WP8.1!
Will this update be for he HTC 8S as well?
When can I update my phone to 8.1?
Main problem is storage so the feature to install or move our apps to SD card is must.
