We are truly floored by the number of feature suggestions that we have received and the excitement about future Windows Phone releases. Some of you have been wondering, “Will Windows Phone 7.8 have the same features as in Windows Phone 8?” The answer, unfortunately, is no. Windows Phone 8 is a generation shift in technology, which means that it will not run on existing hardware. BUT we care deeply about our existing customers and want to keep their phones fresh, so we’re providing the new Start screen in the upcoming 7.8 update. We’ll have more to share on the Windows Phone 7.8 update in the coming weeks.

I definitely need this feature also for WINDOWS PHONE 7.8, at least when changing to new hardware for using WP8 this feature will be needed

This feature is now available in Windows Phone 8. Please note that while Windows Phone 8 doesn’t support USB mass storage with a full file explorer, it does support reading/writing pictures, music, videos and ringtones very similar to the way you normal would with a USB drive.

and I need this feature also for WINDOWS PHONE 7.8, at least synchronizing all files (as Office files, pdf files, but also other file types) via Zune should be possible

There are only 10 (ten) sounds available which you can choose for all the notifications, and an eleventh for the reminder of the calendar, which you can't even choose. But all eleven are very similar pling-pling's in my eyes (sorry: in my ears), and I really want to customize them on my phone (including the reminder for calendar items).

OK, Mobile Guru, but maybe I need a "how to" description for that, as I just can vote for features (not specifically for WP7.5, WP7.8 or WP8), which I already did, finding comments like "will be included in WP8" - which is good news, but not too helpful for current WP7.5 users !
