Blinking LED notification for Missed Calls Email SMS

Display a blinking LED notification when there are missed calls, voicemails, emails, text messages (SMS) etc waiting for you. Also, a blue LED when Bluetooth is on would be a great option. It enables the user to know something is awaiting is attention by just looking at it, without even picking up the phone. No more turning on Power to know what awaits you.

Thanks for your missed calls suggestion. Always great to see such great feedback and excitement about this feature and while we didn’t implement this exactly this way, we have made it possible for device manufacturers to deliver notifications without having to wake the phone up. For example, Nokia’s Glance screen shows you time and missed notifications without having to wake the phone up.

I'm very disappointed :(, this suggestion as of writing has 45,935 votes, how many votes will it take to implement? will the guys with 1 vote ever be heard? I'm sure there is over a thousand 1 vote ideas, I've seen multiple duplicated entries, things that have been implemented (games like candy crush) and things that are not going to be ( leaving Nokia name) but their comments are still there meaning their votes are tied to those comments!
I'm not sure if the site is being monitored or waiting for wp10.
could you at least merge, delete that which needs to be merged and deleted further more according to categories 1 vote per category there isn't enough!!!

Glance is great, but requires specific hardware (not available on the flagship 930), is obtrusive and very power consuming versus a led. (<100uAh active).
The E series do this by breathing/blinking the central led on the action button.
If it's a problem on IP, just license the patent from Ericsson or Nokia or whoever owns it - it's worth it.
If it's a problem on consistency - minimize errors by design, and ensure it, by increasing the price accordingly.
Make this a feature available to (selected ex >800 and new) Lumias with physical buttons and blink the Windows logo on core system notifications (missed calls, SMS, etc)
Currently, still using an Nokia E52 which is predictable in every way even after 5 years. And I am very happy that I paid the price of an upper-medium smartphone for it.
Waiting for 935, after many, many disappointments - Omnia (subpar sound compared to any phone I owned), L925 (unpredictable battery and network connection), etc.

How is possible not to have some type of led/sound notification?

Returning my Lumia 930 tomorrow and buying HTC one.

I'm sorry but the lack of such feature is ridiculous.

And it will be better if you add audible notification for missed calls or massages. e.g. the phone will beep every 5 min. to remind you if you are not looking at your phone.

Lumia 930 has no support for Glance Screen. So? How can I check notification without waking the phone up?

      • AnonymousAnonymous commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

it could be a small area of the screen or making the windows button blink like in the old nokias

      • Anonymous commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

The best way to come around this is by making the start button blink. Lets make the start button useful when its in idle mode so it notifies us that we have a missed call. Plus it will look cool aswell.

Hmmm.. shouldn't Nokia be the one to add that terribly expensive LED before shipping the phones from China? How much does a LED cost anyway, 0.002 USD? No, too expensive to implement, sorry.

Por lo menos diseñen una aplicación externa descargable en el store como han hecho otras compañias, ya que entiendo que encriptar un codigo nuevo en una actualización no es tan facil como parece.Espero les funcione esta sugerencia, desde ya gracias (Lumia 520)

        @Sagar

They make the hardware to for the most part, so it's a valid request, at least 45,000+ people seem to think so.

The recent release of the LED lit DT-903 just shows that even Nokia/Microsoft know that external notifications on their handsets is very poor.

        1) Glance is not supported on all handsets, in fact is seems to be becoming rarer with each release

        2) Tiny static icons on a screen are not particularly noticeable, unless you're right in front of your phone.

Everything and more that's in the DT-903 charging plate should be in an LED in the handsets themselves. Seriously, i've got a decade old feature phone that handles external notifications better, with a multi-colour led, options for how often after the initial alert it blinks etc.

Settings for such a LED could include a charging indicator (no way of knowing that currently other than, again, a static icon on Glance)....custom colours for contacts/apps, low battery etc...etc...etc.

You can ask Cortana to remind you of something, but if you miss it, her Reminder doesn't even hit the Glance screen! So basically if you miss it, you won't know until you turn on your device, by which time, you've just missed that reminder.

Seriously Microsoft, stop ignoring this obviously popular request on your own Uservoice site. It's been ignored for almost four years now. Stop thinking Glance is the answer, it isn't.

This is a suggestion box for the SOFTWARE of WP, stop polluting it with useless ideas. Seriously, notifications are just a button press away -_-

      • SagarSagar commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

You do realize not all phones will have the hardware to do this, right?

      • Anonymous commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

It will be great, and also showing that if the one in calling has a call in waiting or not.
